Inverter failure is the electromechanical wear of the capacitor. This in itself may be the cause of the inverter failure. Capacitors are also very sensitive to temperature. Temperatures that exceed the operating temperature, typically caused by high currents, can reduce the life of the component. However, as the electrolyte evaporates faster at higher temperatures, the life of the capacitor increases as the battery operates below the operating temperature. The next two problems that can cause inverter failure are overcurrent and overvoltage. If the current or voltage increases to an unrated value of the inverter, it may cause damage to components in the equipment, the most common being the inverter bridge. This damage is usually caused by excess heat generated by voltage or current spikes.
